“Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph.” – Matt Hardy

Most of you know that my beautiful and talented sister, Gladys Jem is the person responsible for all my lovely blog photos. She is actually a wedding photographer based in San Francisco. Without her behind the lens, my blog would be lifeless and this awesome sister team would not exist! Today, I would like to give a shoutout to this wonderful human and praise her exquisite work.
This past weekend, I watched my sissy photograph my best friend’s wedding. I’ve never seen her in action and in full-on work mode until that day. It’s no surprise that she snaps amazing photos because she savors the peachy moments – every hundredth of a second of it. She will never settle for less than perfect, but will strive to craft images that will last a lifetime. Shots that make her (and you will too) squeal with excitement because it’s so dang good. Fun fact: she sometimes squeals when she gets the “money shot”. Haha!
I just wanted to share this #proudsissymoment because seeing her photograph the bride and groom and making sure their expectations were met is pretty darn awesome. This woman is passionate in what she does and is really good at it! Please take a moment to check out some of the weddings she’s done and this one that was featured on Style Me Pretty recently. The city hall elopements are my personal favorite. 🙂
Thank you sissy for my fabulous #ootd shots, for teaching me how to “smize” (smiling with your eyes), and for telling me to not “make that face”. You know, the face that I always make when I am not “feeling it/myself” during our photo sessions. Let’s be honest: sometimes there are moments when I am not photogenic at all. Haha! Thank goodness for your posing and directing tips! You are my precious JEM. <3
