I know that there are some old items in your closet hanging lonely in the dark, but can be an inspiration for something new. I had an old denim jacket from high school that I just can’t seem to toss. I’ve always wanted a denim vest, but can’t seem to find the perfect one yet (picky shopper here) so I thought to myself “hmm, what if I..?” Then, the easiest DIY happened in a matter of minutes and I scored myself a denim vest! Winning!
Who doesn’t love a super easy DIY project? Easy as in all you need is a pair of scissors to make this happen. Say what?! Oh and that old jean jacket of yours collecting dust in your closet. Don’t own a pair? You can even find one at your local thrift store. Now that’s a great way of picking one up without shelling out the cash!
Ready for this? It gets easier. Start cutting the sleeves off as close to the sleeve seam as possible. Clean up the edges. Done. No hemming or sewing needed. Oh my goodness, was that easy or what? Now you’ve got yourself a denim vest! I love denim vests because you can basically throw them over anything. It’s my summer staple at the moment! Here I’m showing a little bit of skin, so I made my crop top daytime appropriate by wearing it with a high-waisted skirt. I layered it with my denim vest that I made (yay!) to balance it out. I added printed sandals and a clutch both in neutral colors to keep it simple. And lastly, sunglasses because you all know this girl and her sunnies are an inseparable bond. <3
