Hey everyone and happy Friday! I’ve been sick for a few weeks (3 weeks tomorrow) and I’m slowly nursing myself back to normal. I can’t even begin to tell you guys how challenging the last few weeks have been for me. Anyways, it’s Friday and I’m sure you guys have better things to do and not be a grandma like me. Haha! I’m currently watching one of my favorite shows on TLC “Say Yes to the Dress” and it inspired me to write this blog post!
Ok! So before I went hunting for my dress, I made sure that I had an idea of what silhouette and style I liked first because dress shopping can be so overwhelming. While I spent hours looking at different designers, my sister suggested to check out Watters because she felt like I was a Watters kind of bride. Well, she was right! From there, I discovered Willowby by Watters which is part of the Watters family! It’s edgier and more me! The style that I wanted was an illusion dress and something with color! Upon browsing their site, I immediately fell in love with a couple of dresses, jotted their names down, then googled which boutiques around me that carried Willowby and the rest is history! It was seriously that quick, guys! I visited two boutiques in one day and tried THE DRESS on twice and I just knew that it was THE ONE. My mom, my sister and my best friend were thrilled and their approval was important to me. It made it that more special.
I will share one of the dresses that I tried on, but I will not show you guys which one I actually chose! I want to surprise you guys later!
Ok, so let me explain my facial expression in this photo…I liked this dress sooo much that I made an ugly Kim Kardashian cry face. I was extremely excited at this point because almost every dress I tried on was a hit (humble brag). This was the runner up dress! Isn’t she gorgeous? The only reason why I didn’t choose this one was because I didn’t feel like wearing sleeves while getting married on a tropical island (Maui is where I’ll be tying the knot this fall) and my sister made a good point about the lining color blending in with the sand. Dress shopping is serious business, folks!
September is months away and I can’t wait to get married! I will definitely share that with you guys once the time comes. It’ll be the most perfect day, but the only thing missing would be my dad. I really miss him, but I know he’ll be there in spirit. Well, it’s time for me to hit that sack. I need to get better and feel 100% again! Have a great weekend, guys! ❤️
